Guest of Honour

Who is Guest of Honour at the 2017 International Classic Motorcycle Show 2017? Why it's only three times world champ, Troy Bayliss! You'll have five opportunities to see the engaging Australian rider being interviewed by Steve Plater, the first at 10.30 on Saturday morning. He takes the stage two further times that day - at 1pm and 4pm - returning to the chair at 10.30 am and 1pm on Sunday. He has tales aplenty to tell, including his  infamous 2002 World SBK title battle with Colin Bayliss the season after he snared his first world crown. Troy will also close the show, hosting the much anticipated and hard fought Classic MotorCycle Show awards.

Classic bike concours

Stafford Bike Show is the place to feast your eyes on an incredibly diverse range of beautifully restored classic motorcycles. Thousands of club and private entries will decorate both the Main and Dirt Bike halls, vying for glory in the prestigious Classic MotorCycle Awards. There are nearly 40 individual, club and stand award categories in which competition will, as ever, be proud and fierce. These cover pretty much every classic bike angle, from the tree-topping and all-embracing Best In Show, through niches such as the Hailwood Trophy (for the finest TT machine) through individial best Japanese, Military, Scooter, Scrambler, Trial and Endure motorcycles - and more! Firing them up in the GP Paddock

Classic Racer GP PaddockThe Classic Racer GP Paddock is the place to head if you're partial to the mighty roar and oily scent generated by race machines of yesteryear.

Guest of honour Troy Bayliss will also join the twice daily fire-ups to offer his own insights. You can join him at 11.30 am and 2.30 pm on Saturday, or 11.30 am or 3 pm on Sunday.

Restoration Theatre

The newest attraction to Stafford returns by popular demand. This year John Luke, the BSA Gold Star Owners' Club's technical officer, will be rebuilding one of the iconic British motorcycles.

Theatregoers will benefit not just from seeing the restoration first hand - with a large screen relay -  but from John's tip-laden expert commentary. bike show stafford

John will take to the Meat Hall stage five times over the weekend as the restoration progresses. Catch him at 11.30 am, 12 noon and 2.30 pm on Saturday, and 11 am 12 noon and a final curtain-closer at 2pm on Sunday.

Bonhams Spring Stafford Sale

Whether you're a buyer or simply an appreciative viewer, Bonhams' auction always impresses. For its spring sale at Stafford, the legendary auctioneer has a stuning array of lots. A number are being offered without a reserve, including a tasty-looking 1936 Velocette MAC. Others fall within the highly affordable range, a 1956 Matchless G11CSR going under the hammer for a forecast £3,500 - 4,500. Others lie in what for many of us will be the rather more elitist "I wish!" category, leaving us simply drooling and pining for that elusive lottery win. Very much among that list is the 1948 Velocette KTT MKVIII which Freddie Frith rode to glory in the very first 350cc World Championship. Its incredible pedigree and quality of restoration mean this works special is likely to attract some seriously serious bids. Bonhams has put an estimate of £120,000-150,000 against this very special.

Classic Dirt Bike Experience

Off-roaders are not forgotten at the Stafford Bike Show. The Classic Dirt Bike Hall hosts trials, enduro and scrambler motorcycles whilst outside there's knobble-tyred entertainment from the Classic Bike Dirt Experience. Here, Tim Britton, editor of Classic Dirt Bike magazine, will be joined by members of  Owd Codgers MCC for twice-daily demos of classic trials bikes. As you can see, they enjoy putting on a display....   International Classic MotorCycle Show
