Principal Insurance appoints Sharron to the Board

Principal Insurance has appointed Sharron Titterington as Compliance and HR Director to the boards of both its trading and group holding companies.

The move sees Sharron stepping up from her previous role as Head of Compliance and HR, a post she held for over seven years. She will retain her position as Company Secretary.

She is one of the company's longest serving employees, having joined as Compliance & Finance manager just two months after its founding in May 2011. She then enjoyed successive promotions, culminating in her board appointment.

Commenting on her elevation, founder and managing director Dave Bowcock commented: “Sharron has been instrumental in ensuring we have maintained the highest compliance standards and nurtured talent throughout a sustained period of organic and acquisitive growth.

“Her elevation to the Board is not only just reward for her outstanding contribution to Principal’s success, but also timely as we look to significantly expand the business in 2026, through acquisition and building strategic alliances.”

Titterington commented: “I’m honoured to join the Board and am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead as Principal continues on its upward trajectory. These are particularly exciting times for the business.”

In a further board move, the company has also appointed Finance Director Marcin Musial to the board of Principal Insurance Group Holdings Limited. This is again to strengthen executive presence across the group in anticipation of further growth this year.

Principal, which employs around 70 staff, generates nearly £30m GWP annually and serves around 50,000 motorcycle, courier, motorhome, car and fleet insurance policyholders.
