This is Rossi’s RS125 GP RSP, his #2 bike in the 1997 Moto GP, only his second season and one which saw the still teenage rider take the championship in magnificent style. For he didn’t just win the title, he stormed it, winning 11 of 15 races. You can get some idea just how dominant the young Italian was through these highlights from Sentul as he claimed the Indonesian GP with apparent ease, a final win in the penultimate race in a championship he’d already bagged.
The machine was acquired by Phil Morris, proprietor of Phil Morris Racing, and restored at his hugely impressive Motorcycle Racing Museum. If a cheeky peek or two at this historic bike whilst it graces our stand, you can see this and 58 other magnificent machines Phil has on display in Oswestry, by appointment only.

But for now why not come and visit our mini-museum at Excel London where, aside from the two awesome Aprilia’s you’ll also find Lamb Engineering’s beguiling and beautiful Circus Speed, Indian’s new Chief Classic and a bike which all but stole the NEC show, Rob Kingston’s Rotrex supercharged 265bhp Triumph Rocket III.
