By Eccythump, Motorcycle Live is almost here!

Posted on Nov 17, 2015

The countdown to this year’s Motorcycle Live has well and truly started with the doors to the UK’s biggest bike show set to open in just 11 days.

Things are stepping up a gear here at Principal HQ as we prepare for our annual pilgrimage down the M6, ready to build our stand and bedeck it with biking beauties. We’ll reveal all, as it were, towards the end of next week but thought we might whet your show appetite by unveiling just one of the magnificent machines we’ll be exhibiting at the NEC. Created by Manchester Ducati, DMC Moto and Bolton fabricator, custom vehicle artist and tattooist Paul Eccleshare, The DMC Eccythump Scrambler was rightly crowned Best Custom Bike at the Stafford International Classic Motorcycle Show. It’s a thing of great beauty which marries the many virtues of Ducati’s new off-roader with Paul’s creative and engineering nous. Inspired by his 60s supercar designs – check that handcrafted leather seat! – it features a striking straight-through exhaust, custom stone guards and heat deflectors and vintage motocross headlight and bars. NEC Bike Show 2015 Eckythump Ducati ScramblerIt’s been designed to shine, both literally and metaphorically, with elements of the wheels nickel plated and the whole benefiting from a luxurious paint job with pearlescent base coats finished with 24 carat gold leaf. The result is a bike that generates more reflections than Katie Price’s mirror. If it’s tickling your fancy then drop by stand 4c40 to check it out first hand and, if you’ve got £12,995 rattling in your bank account, you can snap it up from Manchester Ducati’s used bike lot!
  • Motorcycle Live opens at Birmingham’s NEC on Saturday 28 November and runs through until Sunday December 6th. Advance tickets cost £17.50 for adults, £11 for seniors, £7 for children aged 11 to 16, with accompanied under-11s going free. For more details visit motorcyclelive.co.uk
