What's on at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show 2017?
In short, plenty!
The organisers, Morton's, never let us down in putting on a right proper festival of classic biking. That no doubt explains why the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics show regularly pulls in some 30,000 bike enthusiasts.
This show is particularly strong on modern classics, those barely bygone beauties from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

The staple draws include an array of nearly 1,000 trade, dealer and auto-jumble stands which are great both for an idle browse and to seek out that much sought after part.
But there's more. Much more.
Who's Guest of Honour at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show?
This year the show welcome's the ever-entertaining Arron Slight, aka the 'flying kiwi, aka the people's Champion!
The much-loved former World Superbikes rider has always been good value, whether on the track or in front of a microphone.
He has many a story to tell from a career that saw him claim a whopping 87 WSB podiums, including a baker's dozen of wins.
But title glory was to infuriatingly elude him. He was runner up to fellow antipodean rival Troy Corser in '96, bagged third in 97 and was just pipped to the championship post by Carl Fogarty in '98.
He arguably won the popularity stakes though. His no-nonsense say-it-as-he-saw-it approach earned him much admiration from the stands, even if it did rub up the occasional rival along the way!

You can here both sides of one such set-to
here as he and Neil Hodgson give their own explanations for a little bit of on track argy-bargy at Sugo.
He's an enduring character in more than one way too. Slight is the only rider ever to have claimed three successive victories in the highly testing Suzuka 8 Hours.
He will have many stories to share with the Stafford hordes. Simply unmissable.
Bonhams Autumn Stafford Sale
The Bonhams Auction at Stafford is always a treat, even if your pockets aren't deep enough for you to tip the auctioneer a nod.
You simply know that some of the world's rarest and most beautiful bikes will be going under the hammer.
This time around there are some 339 lots, including a host of rare parts. There's plenty to drool over, including Jorge Lorenzo 's 2007 ex-works Aprilia 250. This is the GP bike the great Spaniard rode to take the second of the five world championships he claimed during a fantastic racing career.
Buying a piece of modern bike history won't come cheap though; the guide price for this magnificent machine is a hefty £100-140,000.
Vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will be keen to clock the 688cc Pierce Four which Bonham's have secured for the autumn sale. This the bike said to have put its manufacturer out of business as its build cost reputedly exceeded its sale price.
Despite being well over 100 years old, this stunning specimen has had just four owners since new. Again, if it tickles your fancy, you'll need do more than raid the penny jar. It's expected to fetch somewhere between £80-120,00.
Restoration Theatre

A popular recent addition to Stafford's classic bike show, the Restoration Theatre will this time around be hosted by the
Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club.
Suzuki Village
The Japanese manufacturer is bringing an impressive array of historic bikes to Stafford.
They include the two RG500s that the late, great Barry Sheene rode to put his hands on the '76 and '77 world championship trophies.
Among other super Suzukis joining them will be RGV500s ridden to championship victory by Kevin Schwantz and Kenny Roberts in 1993 and 2000 respectively.
What else is on at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show?
The list is a long one. Highlights include the ever-popular Wall of Death, ex-BSB champ Steve Plater quizzing biking guests, the Dirtbike Experience and, of course, the cavalcade which sees all manner of machines fired up and paraded around the Stafford County Show Ground.
Not forgetting....Principal Insurance!
